lmhc & owner

Hi! I’m Aly, and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

After my own “quarter life crisis” resulted in a career pivot to the mental health field, I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients of all ages and backgrounds through the meaningful work of embracing self-reflection to increase their sense of well-being.

My clinical experiences have taken me throughout the state of Florida, and now, back to my hometown of Gainesville. Here, I have opened my practice in hopes of providing inclusive and insightful mental health treatment to those ready to make changes towards healthier living.

As my career has changed and grown, the constant has been my passion for the genuine connection formed with my clients; this has laid the foundation for our transformative work together. I’d love to begin that journey with you, too!

 My Approach

My approach is centered on insight-building to help clients understand themselves and their experiences. From my perspective, our emotions are always communicating with us and provide valuable information about our needs. When our needs go unmet, it can lead to distress, unhappiness, or lack of fulfillment within our lives. We may feel stuck when we struggle to recognize our needs, or feel lost on how to cope.

Together, we will work to uncover these needs, highlight ineffective patterns that prevent them from being met, and discuss how to make related changes to bring wellness back into your life. My approach is relational, emphasizing the importance of our connections to our emotional well-being. It also draws on evidence-based techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy to build up clients’ emotion regulation toolkit and establish realistic self-care practices.

you can expect my approach to be

INTENTIONAL, COLLABORATIVE, & COMPASSIONATE

Intentional: Intentionality is the practice of being thoughtful and purposeful in our choices so that they reflect our priorities and values. This core value provides the framework for my approach to sessions, and what I try to instill for clients on how to approach their lives outside the therapy space, too. Intentional choices leads to effective action, which paves the way for well-being.

Collaborative: You’re coming to me for guidance, but you are the expert of you. You set the pace and focus for therapy, and I provide the path that balances gentle redirection and supportive encouragement towards your goals.

Compassionate: Compassion is at the center of not only the care you will receive from me, but what I will encourage you to develop for yourself. The ability to extend self-compassion towards ourselves is often a catalyst for achieving greater change.
